About One More Listen
Albums worth your time.
One More Listen was made by people who collect vinyl, love music, and spend far too many evenings under a pair of Sennheiser HD 800 S headphones.
Why we made it
We built it because we kept running into the same problem. There is more music within reach than ever, and it has become harder, not easier, to find the next record worth sitting down with. We’d read the reviews, follow the year-end lists and still miss albums we would have loved. Often we found them years late, by accident, in a shop bin or on a friend’s shelf.
So we made the thing we wanted for ourselves.
How it works
You rate albums you know. From that, we work out which critics and publications tend to hear music the way you do, and each morning we suggest five albums to play from start to finish. Most are new. Some are older records that passed you by. A few are ones the critics admired and almost nobody heard, which are the ones we enjoy finding most.
Each suggestion comes with its reasons, so you can see why it’s there and how sure we are. Sometimes we’ll get it wrong. Tell us when we do; that is how it gets better.
A few things we care about
We think albums are meant to be heard whole, in order, the way they were put together. We’d rather give you five good suggestions than five hundred. And we think your taste is your own, so what everyone else is playing matters less than what you’ll want to hear again.
We don’t stream anything ourselves. You listen wherever you already do, on whatever you already own, and we link you there. We also link to the reviews behind each pick, because good music writing deserves readers.
The daily picks are free, and they will stay free.
We think you’ll like this one. Now it’s your turn.
