Terms of service

Last updated 2026-10-16.

The service

One More Listen (also known as Liner Notes; linernotes.me and onemorelisten.com) is an album-first music discovery app. It recommends albums based on your own ratings and, where they exist, critic scores and taste-matched sources - it does not stream or host any music itself. It complements a streaming service you already use.

Your account

During the beta, an account is created with an invite code. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address or with your email and a password, so you’re responsible for keeping access to that email account and for your password. You must be at least 16 years old to use One More Listen.

Free to use, and paid plans later

One More Listen is free to use today, and the daily picks are free and will stay free. We may announce paid plans later. If we do, we will announce them and what they include before they start, and update these terms. Nothing about a future plan, its price or its features is promised here.

Listening on other services

We don’t stream anything. Where an album can be played, we link you out to a third-party service such as Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz or Deezer. Those services are not run by us: they have their own terms and privacy practices, what they offer varies between countries and over time, and a link may lead to an album that has moved or is no longer available. We are not responsible for those services or for what you find there.

Critic scores and sources

Where we show a score or a mention from a critic or publication, we say which one it comes from and link back to the source. We keep facts and links - a score, its date, the reviewer and a link - not the review text. Scores are shown on a common 1-10 scale, so they may be converted from the publication’s own scale (stars, letter grades or points). Names and marks of publications belong to their owners; we are not affiliated with them. Album covers belong to their rights holders.

Recommendations and data

Every recommendation is computed from your own ratings and real, sourced data - never a fabricated score, review or reason. Where a number or claim comes from a critic or publication, we link back to that source. Predictions are estimates, not guarantees you will like an album.

Your content

Ratings, diary entries and anything else you add stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them as needed to run the service for you, including computing your recommendations and sending you the emails you have switched on. That permission ends when you delete your content or your account. We don’t show your content to other members. You can export or delete all of it at any time from Settings, under Your data. How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy statement.

Acceptable use

Please don’t:

  • scrape, systematically crawl, or bulk-extract data from One More Listen, or use bots, scripts or other automated means to access it, without our written permission;
  • try to access another user’s account or data, bypass rate limits or sign-up limits, or interfere with the service for other users;
  • share your account, or use someone else’s personal data in the service;
  • use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes someone else’s rights.

No warranty and liability

One More Listen is provided “as is,” particularly during this beta. Streaming availability, critic-score coverage and recommendation quality will have gaps - we’ll try to make those honest and visible (e.g. “not enough data yet”) rather than hidden. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms as the product changes; meaningful changes will be announced by email. You can stop using One More Listen and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that violates the acceptable-use section above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are brought before the Oslo district court (Oslo tingrett), without limiting any right you have as a consumer to bring a claim where you live or to rely on the mandatory consumer protection rules of your own country.
